EYE (Episcopal Youth Event) is a triennial gathering of youth, youth leaders, and bishops from across the Episcopal Church worldwide. The event is filled with diverse and enriching corporate worship, workshops on a variety of topics (spiritual, social, artistic), games, and large-group presentations.
EYE is an amazing experience and a rare look at the larger Episcopal Church. You’ll meet people from all over the world, and you’ll get to experience the diversity not just of culture but also of ideas in the Church. EYE participants challenge themselves in discussing differences while sharing the common table and celebrating the unity of the Church. There are opportunities to serve as acolytes and Eucharistic ministers in large, exciting liturgy. And it’s a chance to experience living on a college campus before you graduate high-school.
Episcopal youth event
When: July 4-8, 2023
Where: University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland
Who: Students in 9th-12th grade of the 2022-2023 school year who will be age 15-19 at the time of EYE
Cost: $400 (this is the registration fee charged by EYE; the diocese will cover transportation costs for all participants.)

Requirements

EYE23 participants must have turned at least 15 and be no older than 19 by July 4, 2023. Participants should be enrolled in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade during the 2022-2023 school year, or equivalent, for students in non-traditional or non-US school settings.

All EYE23 participants must be vaccinated in accordance with Executive Council’s recently adopted Model Vaccination Policy which incorporates CDC Guidelines. Exemptions from vaccinations is only permitted for those who provide a physician’s notice for exemptions due to health concerns.

The Episcopal Church does not recognize nor does it provide religious exemptions from vaccinations.

All participants, youth and adult, are required to sign the Community Covenant for Behavior. Parents/guardians must also sign youth covenants so they understand the requirements and potential consequences if their child breaches the covenant.
