Upcoming Youth Events in the Diocese of East Tennessee

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Online registration is not complete until you have also mailed in your Community Covenant and Release form (link to the right) and your deposit. Please be sure to send these in after you’ve signed up online.

Adult participants: We invite and encourage parish youth leaders to attend our events with their youth. For any parish that has six or more youth attending, we ask that the parish also send at least one adult. If both male and female participants are attending from that parish, we ask that one male and one female adult leader attend. This helps ensure that we have proper youth:adult ratios at our events.

Spring semester: register now!

2012 Diocesan Youth Event (DYE)
For youth in grades 6 through 12. The DYE Lock-In takes place at St. John Cathedral in Knoxville, alongside Diocesan Convention, February 10-11. We encourage parish youth groups - youth and youth leaders - to attend this event together, as we will join Diocesan Convention for a Celebration of Holy Eucharist on Saturday morning.

We’ll be joined this year by Marylin Werst of Lousiville, KY. Marylin has a long history of youth ministry with provincial and Episcopal-Church-wide events, as well as youth events at Kanuga. She will lead us in a two-part workshop on “Dorky Dancing”, an exciting energizer and community builder that you can use in your own parishes!

Cost is $35 per person if registered by February 1, and $45 if registered after February 1.

The lock-in opens at 6:00pm for check-in, and we’ll have dinner at 7:00pm. Please come to the Education Building, through the playground/courtyard, when you arrive. Pack for an overnight (clothes, sleeping bag, pillows and blankets). We’ll wrap up around 10:30am on Saturday.

Happening #63
For youth in grades 10-12. Happening #63 will be March 9-11 at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Farragut, TN. Cost is $55 per person if registered by February 22, $65 if registered after.

Patterson Junior High Retreat
For youth in grades 6-8, and staffed by high-school youth. The retreat will be held April 27-29 at Grace Point.
